Can I just add that the Picturehouse Greenwich is a fabulous cinema! Great legroom, the last two rows especially have a nice incline, and the best: you can tilt all seats back a little, which, together with the headrest, made it the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a cinema! Total thumbs up!

hurm well i don't see the father not seeing the supernatural side as a gender-based decision on the part of the filmmakers - since the film works on two levels (rational and supernatural) it was the right move to make one of them see it one way, one the other
And anyway the end indicates a change in the father's mind doesn't it?

Yeah but the mother thing is sooooooo predictable! Picture being the father the one that gets all the images at the beginning... just change the roles for a minute. What do you see?:A

What I mean to say is, I think he doesn't see the stuff cos he's the 'rational' one, not cos he's male, but because he's a doctor etc
Which reminds me *spoilers* did you notice that the moment he chose to order the seance people away was when they mentioned that simon was almost dead? This is complete speculation, but as a doctor wouldn't he know before her that the son was reaching death?

That is what I mean the man is always the "rational" I've met many men that have great sensitivity to the "irrational" and many women that have none. But it is a trite steorotype.

There is a great new code for a Red Carpet Preview Event posted on the codes thread (I got the email from Seefilmfirst as well, do they have to send out in the middle of the night?), but despite there being numerous cinemas all over the country listed, when I logged in, all I could see was Odeon Leicester Square. I bagged tickets though! :)
