IMO Eric Bana is very good - even though it was a boring film he was great in Hulk, which landed him his best job yet, Steven Spielberg's Munich - with a director of such renown its crazy that he steals the show in that movie!

I find it interesting that you are all saying the film was slow. I had the opposite feeling, after all, they crammed 14 years in 2 hours film and I often thought the film just skimmed some events, left some out and jumped a few years! Not that it wasn't still very enjoyable, but I found it moved rather fast.

Should cite X-Men 3 and The Black Dahlia (also with Scarlett) as movies which had a lot crammed into them in a short time, and yet seemed slow!

The OH kept saying to me "I have seen the dark-haired one in something before, what was it?" So we went on imdb.com and he cried "Star Wars! Of course! I knew she was in something I liked!" :rotfl:

  • Saw TOBG tonight with my OH in Greenwich. We made it just in time with all our 'food' and drink bought in the LIDL half a mile away. That king was a real psycho. Fast divorces they had in those days! The movie was OK. I'd rate it a 6.5 out of 10. Tomorrow it's off to the same cinema to see 27 Dresses and on Wednesday it the South African (can't remember the name) one in Surrey Quays. My rating for the Bank Job was 8.5 by the way.

So you were there! I did think I'd seen you come in around half past with a rucksack! Might see you again tomorrow then. :)

Thought TOBG was a bit "arty", nice costumes, locations, camera work and some good dialogue etc. but lacked something. Quite "flat" & needed a bit more "punch". The true story probably held it back and what little artistic licence that was taken wasn't worth it. Only worth 6/10 from me.
Incidentally I've been in/on the main set many times given most of the film takes place at Haddon Hall which is just a few miles away.
