oh i just saw the news - a man was chucked out of cineworld for having his own supply of sweets. a guard checked his bag and threw him out as he refused to throw away his supply.
a quote from cineworld as follows "Cineworld terms and conditions outline that all food consumed on the premises must be purchased at one of our concessions, which is in line with most cinema chain policies. We do offer a full refund if a customer chooses to leave." - i buy my own as the stale ones they sold at the empire last week in sutton was rubbery - they actually poured it out of a huge bag and told me its always like that and it cost me £4.10. i prefer my butterkist cinema sweet- I came, I saw, I conquered :j

I've never been searched entering a cinema but I suppose they have a right to do so if they choose. The problem is how do you get a refund if you're kicked out from attending a free preview?!!0

at least you get your money back so as long as you get caught as the credits roll.... or if the film is turning out to be crap make it really obvious that your are eating illegal sweets0 -
Good Luck!!:T
I tried that but found nothing we didn't know about already...I did end up entering a few comps for DVDs etc on Allocine, Moviebeat etc.
I went on holiday for two weeks and not only did I miss out on screenings while away but also opportunities for screenings for these two weeks since I've been back as all the codes have been used up....so that ends up being 4 weeks without screenings!!
When I went to Malta last year I kept checking the Cinema Tix thread online while I was there, and although I didn't print my tickets out (THAT COSTS MONEY) I had the email so was able to print them when I got home. How sad am I, MSE'ing while on holiday??? Mind you the weather was a bit poor so it gave me something to do. LOL:grouphug: :grouphug:0 -
Really? I always bring my own stuff. Have eaten my sarnies in front of the Odeon Greenwich ushers without them ever batting an eyelid, and we always bring our own drink bottles. Would like to see them trying to chuck me out!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

I usually take one of my many free diet with vits coke bottles, wouldnt dream of buying their overpriced food and drinks. Whats the point in a free night out if you have to pay over the odds for drinks and sweets? I do remember a while back a programme about taking your own food etc into cinemas and the woman doing it asked at head office whether you could do this and I think nearly all the cinemas said it was allowed. Can't see what all the fuss is about, its not like you are going to sit down for a film with a three course meal on your knee! Or maybe!!! LOL:grouphug: :grouphug:0

The problem is, boycotting them doesn't really help as they don't lose out on free previews, do they?Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Well, all these hotdogs, nachos and popcorn with extra large coke meals do look like three course meals sometimes, LOL! I remember a small cinema in my hometown in Germany which used to have little tables and you could order snacks, pizzas and icecream during the half hour of advertising at the start. It wasn't overpriced and I used to love it, although you couldn't make a quick getaway after the credits were rolling as you had to wait for the girl to come round and collect payment. I took the OH round there once and he couldn't believe his eyes, then ordered the biggest icecream on the menu, LOL. That was before my moneysaving freebie days of course.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

If anyone has anything at Cineworld Renfrew Street Glasgow it was closed today due to an electrical fault. Don't know the current situation.
I had a mozerella and tomato croissant from Pret in there the other day. Lovely, it was.0
