Had to reask for my security code, await to get it, and tried in the main ATMs and nothing, doesn't work. Anybody has any other ideas? apparently I am allowed to make transfers to other Nationwide accounts (how nice and thoughtful by their part!). Do you know any trustworthy shop that accepts bank transfer and has a Nationwide account?
The account terms and conditions are very clear as to how the account operates.  If you've no plans to return to the UK.  Closing it maybe the easiest option.
  • You  may find a relative has a Nationwide account to which the closure funds could be transferred.

If it has been inactive for long I'm surprised you are even being allowed to move money out (or even in).

(I say that as an account I have with another building society with a few thousand in it and which I haven't used for about 5 years cannot be accessed until I provide photo ID etc, not something I can do until we are out of lockdown and I can get to a branch (not local) or get photocopies to send.  They even returned a cheque to me and tried to contact me on my office direct line they had recorded ten years ago and not my home number where I have lived for over twenty.)
