Clearly, you never suffered Vista ...
Neil describes the Linux experience perfectly. You have to think about it. In the early days, you'll probably have to ask for help. The answers will come in terms you'll learn to understand, but to begin with, you'll wonder what you've let yourself in for.
Mind you, the reverse can also be true. DH is a diehard Linux fan. He bought a snazzy Windoze tablet because it was an end of line at a Very Good Price and he fell in love with the hardware. He keeps asking me what to do, or what this or that message means. :-)
