Erroneous Transfer
This forms part of the rules you can contact either the original or the new energy supplier - they share equal responsibility for resolving the problem
• the energy supplier you contact should explain clearly what action they're going to take and keep you updated with progress. How to do this if
1.As a customer of One Select they fold.
2. Together Energy take over dual fuel customers from One Select. However unbeknown to me they only take on electric even though I provide gas and electric meter readings and dicuss my direct debit. They have not noticed my gas was not transferred to them and my credit from One Select disappears.
3.When I finally get to the bottom of why I can no longer provide gas readings to Together Energy they tell me they never took on my gas in the first place, hence the journey begins and I find out Tonik ET my gas prior to the Together Energy take over, new tenants moved in so it happened then despite their meter being outside and mine under my stairs.
4. On requesting my gas is sent to Together Energy from Tonik for some reason it is sent to NPower as an ET. Another one. The transfers are under the tenant upstairs name and address.
5. NPower are informed and claim they try and ET me back to Together Energy. However no one tells me of their failed attempt and I keep ringing them
Lockdown and covid 19
6. Getting no where with NPower take matter to Ombudsman. They tell me I will have to pay NPower because they have my gas meter despite being under another name and address. The analogy is used that its like I go in to Sainburies buy a loaf and say I am going to pay Tesco. I say no its like going to Sainsburies to buy a loaf and Tesco whip it out of my hands and tell me I am paying them.
7. Basically all was ok with One Select when they folded dual fuel customers were automatically sent to Together Energy. I sent my readings to Together Energy and discussed my DD. Clearly Together Energy were not capable of dealing with a bulk of new customers from One Select as they did not pick up on the fact my gas was not transferred. Tonik who have also now folded clearly did not link the meter reading to the correct address of their new customer (this could have been the fault of the tenant not giving the incorrect address details, they were the tenants from hell in so many other respects). Tonik then send me to Npower by a final ET why no idea and they too have folded so can't ask them.
8. NPower have my meter number with the tenants upstairs name and address.
9.Together Energy tell me this week they would not be able take on my gas now anyway as they do not have the facility to take on a single fuel! The fact I was being returned to them was never going to work anyway apparently as Together Energy never had my gas in the first place. I would have to be a new customer but even then they could not do it.
10. I decide to join Octopus can't deal with this anymore. Waiting to for electric to be sent from Together Energy thats should be a trial in itself. Any credit due and get my gas transferred from NPower.
There is a debt attached to my gas meter at NPower under the tenants upstairs name and address who had to leave in hurry
Who do I pay backdated gas to? Why should I pay NPower who I did not choose to go with and have never provided a meter reading to and havenever communicated with me despite me explaining the issue as best I could time and time again, even tried again this week. I can't pay Together Energy as they won't accept a single fuel, no facilities to do so
In short I was automatically transferred asa dual fuel customer to Together Energy from one Select that went bust, ET(gas) to Tonik from One Select prior to the transfer. Tonik goes bust. ET (gas) again to NPower.

That seems like a fairly simple fix.0
