Here's hoping travelodge now do the same!
    Lea
  • I am trying to get a refund for a trip that I cannot make. My area was put into Tier 4 on Saturday afternoon, I was due to travel to a Tier 2 hotel for the Christmas duration.  I booked it on the savers rate, which means that I am not eligible for a refund, only date changes.  This is no good for me, I don't need another date! I emailed guest relations, who have bluntly said all I can do is amend the date and they won't discuss it further.  Can they do this? Thanks.

Yes, I'm afraid they can. As the hotel is in tier 2 it's presumably open and available for guests.
It would be different if they were forced to close, but as it is they're not obliged to offer you a refund if you are not able to travel.
  • FYI as it may help others...I had a 2 room saver rate booking in Kent for this weekend and phoned Premier Inn last week and got a refund without any issues.  Website would only allow me to amend date.
