So why aren't you querying the £595 that you apparently weren't aware of and didn't agree to ? Or is there more to the story ?maxwilkes said:
At the time of placing my order it said £20.00 to be paid today. After that the amount showed as "Pending" in PayPal. About an hour later that amount changed to £595.00 and I got an email informing me about the security deposit.Browntoa said:With PayPal checkout there is always a summary of what you are paying before you authorise it . It appears you failed to read this .
Who was the supplier/what is the product ?

Unless PayPal is the bank of mum and dad, the amicable agreement to resolve this issue is to pay up, you spent the money so now you need to deal with it.maxwilkes said:I have no issue with them chasing the debt, in fact I've been trying to get hold of them via their message centre to come to an agreement whereby the issue is resolved as amicably as possible...4 -
Why didn't immediately ring PayPal & raise a dispute over the £595?? I would have done - not just left it there.

I'm guessing the answer is that the OP wanted the mobile phone so didn't want to cancel/dispute the security deposit for fear he wouldn't get his phone...isplumm said:Why didn't immediately ring PayPal & raise a dispute over the £595?? Look on the bright side. At least it is unlikely you will be able to waste money on another expensive phone (and possibly anything else) for the next six years

So your expensive trinket required a security deposit. You should have questioned this at the time, but why should other PayPal subsidise your debt? Pay up or have you account closed and the bailiffs round your place!3

I don't understand why the OP thinks they are entitled to an 'amiable' solution.
Sometimes you have to be a big boy and deal with your own debts rather than expect others to lend you the money.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!3 -
I guessed that - I suspect the OP thought it was like an overdraft & could just pay it back when he / she wanted!MobileSaver said:k3lvc said:
