atleast they will remove it again hon, Just do it immediately it shows, I had one taken out of my account and it took them 10 days to put it back!!!!!!
Why not go into your local branch and speak to the manager about the scenario? try to find out why it happened and how they can prevent it happening again?

The Halifax are a very big joke. However i am referring to the point that even if your t&c's say that you can't get charged you still can be. Imagine you are able to purchase via credit on a website (valued customer etc). The website can use Halifax secure to claim the money from your account as they use a guarentor process where they say they have honoured the agreement between themselves and halifax and therefore the halifax needs to pay them. Unfortunately no funds in your account does matter halifax will take it out anyway. Honestly if you don't believe me try it. If you have zero in your account you can still carry out a number of limited purchase's upto a threashold determined by the website. Which will then 3 days later be charged against your account (not mattering what kind of account you have).0 -

Very nice however have been down this road even screaming at the phone as passed from department to department. The long and short of it is halifax say its your responsibility to maintain your account properly and therefore they are not accountable for any charges you may incur through overspending or lopholes in the financial process.0 -
the woman on the phone said that any direct debit or payment that is refused will incur a charge, but ebay tried to take my selling fees from my account a few weeks back and there was no money in my account. nothing has shown on my account as a failed payment but i got an email from ebay saying they tried to take the funds.
now i know before this would incur a charge, but not on this.
m.colak, i am aware what your saying about halifax secure which is a process you have to put extra details in such as password etc, but paypal does not use this system so cant see how they can do it.
i spose i just need to wait and see what happens. the thing is they accepted one transaction which made me £8 summin over drawn, but refused another one so how can they do this? the transactions were made within minutes of each other0 -
We had this last week. We purposely don't have an arranged OD facility and last week there was a problem with DHs wages (his works problem not ours). Our bank charged us 5 lots of £29.00 within 24 hours for going OD. We phoned them and had a letter this morning saying they were within their rights etc etc but they would refund this time. £150 was a lot to lose so very happy with their decision! Glad you're getting yours back .January budget
