As you have mentioned why you wanted to ditch the fund. Have you considered sector investment like tech, energy e.t.c?Johnnyboy11 said:Many thanks for all the comments and views, all valid and genuinely appreciated.Anyhow, for the reasons I posted, I don't rate this funds prospects or it's fit into my portfolio, so it's time to sell and look for something less concentrated and more global.

Prism said:How long have you held Lindsell Train Global Equity? Surely you must be happy with your overall return from it?
First deal was Feb 18, last deal was Sept 19, so I just caught some of the good gains but tempered by the the lacklustre past year. I'd guess a weighted return of about 20% over the 2.5 years that I have been invested. Fortunately I had about twice the amount invested in Fundsmith Equity, which has performed rather better...

For what it’s worth I’ve showed LTGE the door this week as well.

Good question. My current thinking is to further invest in the Vanguard Developed World Ex UK Equity Index Fund, to sit alongside the bulk of my portfolio which is invested in VLS60. Not the most exciting strategy, I know, but as time goes on I am becoming less and less convinced that the vast majority of active funds can consistenty beat their benchmark.

Looking at the chart it's only really been outperformed by Fundsmith for the last 1 year out of 5. Fundsmith may have its bad year too..

“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.” Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway3 -
Global funds maybe more of a disappointment.Johnnyboy11 said:Thrugelmir said:

Still holding mine. Might not have been the best year, but hats off to them for the kind of performance they've had over the last few years without relying on tech for the heavy lifting."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius2

We do get a lot of people from time to time on this board who make a decision, ask for third party opinions to validate it, receive the opposite of that validation, and then say, "ah well, I've made my decision anyway so I will still go and sell this fund at a low point because it's time to sell, (because I didn't really value your opinion on why my ideas are misguided, so I don't have any cogent arguments against it)"
And then they reply only with sarcasm to anyone who offers a suggestion that they should come back and let us know how their unpopular opinion plays out.
All part of life's rich pageantry I suppose
