Morning all! I've just been looking at house !!!!!! on rightmove,my god there are some expensive but drool inspiring houses in my area...We're not moving, it's just I picked up some blankets from an area I'd never been to and thought, oo, those houses and this area look nice, how much...etc...There was a nice little red tartan travelrug in the blankets which is now adorning my legs on the sofa,it's lovely and warm, not our cat thinks so too, he hasnt got off it since I put it there.Today is sunny, grrr, because it was supposed ot be raining so we could have finished off the thing, but OH is asleep and won't be up for ages and wants to be involved, which I suppose, is a good thing but that means I am sitting on my hands in frustration. I made the salsa yesterday, ended up with six litre jars and two half litre ones, an awful lot of work for the result, but at least I know exactly what's in it - nothing but tomatoes and no skin or seeds - so any tomato based foods will be organic as you like in the winter. When you think about it, one little jar will make enough sauce for at least four meals of whatever kind, so it's not too bad.Today I am going to try and clear some clutter from the living room.I need space to cut up some fabric for the sides of the Thing and there is a lot of 'stuff' that can go somewhere else.Scarelt, glad you had a nice holiday, the Lake District always sounds like such a lovely place to go. Nelski, I am impressed with your decluttering! Can you come and tell me what to do please?
Gers, how annoying! Had a similar thing once where I annoyed some drug dealers by wanting to park my car in my numbered parking space so they cut my petrol lines. A friend did offer to come and shoot them for me but I thought that was a bit over the top
Nanny, it will be a lovely warm and cosy winter of lots of time indoors in front of fires
To be honest, I'm expecting proper lockdown again, hence the building of this pergola thing. At least there's outside space for visitors..Have you got outside space or can you get Mr Fixit to make a bower? Rosy, that's such a good idea and really thoughtful of him, hope you get your hair cut
Hey all reading along, hope you're staying un-freaky on Friday....

Afternoon all.
Late today as DS2 came up this morning to look for some of my Christmas knitting stuff in the loft. He couldn't find it, which was a bit of a blow as I was sure it was up there. This means that I have to go ferreting through bags and boxes which have been (supposedly) already gone through and tidied up. This house will quickly revert to looking like the aftermath of a particularly riotous jumble sale. What's new?
TA, this, for me, is the biggest blessing of lockdown..........when you think that you should really do some wretchedly boring household task and then comfort yourself with the thought that no one else will see it, so it's safe to sit back and watch some mindless rubbish on TV.
AOD, my name is actually Joy, which puts me at a distinct disadvantage when I want to moan and whinge.
Gers, ouch to the puncture. I've never seen what anyone gains from vandalism. At least you can see the point of burglary, someone will be actually gaining something, but sheer destructiveness?
I was saying this to my strictly brought up, upright, teetotal, religious non-conformist father once. He electrified me by saying that there could be a lot of satisfaction in breaking things. He said that he and his five brothers used to collect empty milk bottles from people's doorsteps, arrange them on a wall and throw rocks at them until they were all smashed.
It was a very good thing that my tiny, fierce little grandmother didn't know about this. The boys might not have survived till adulthood.

Have trouble remembering how to fly.13 -
Afternoon all
Thanks for the thread Nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
It was sunny this morning but raining now and chilly, definitely Four Tops weather.
Steve has booked us a week away I in a lodge with a hot tub, any hopes I had of a romantic time have been dashed as he's just invited a friend to come too. I'm not really bothered as his friend has recently broken his pelvis and needs help when he first comes out of hospital. Friend may or may not bring girlfriend! I shall take plenty of knitting and crochet with me to do whilst they go to the pub every night, or if the pubs are closed whilst they stay in and get pished.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.11 -
Good afternoon all, it's turned into a lovely breezy day here, wish I'd done more washing, but we went to the caravan early on, sorted out a bit there, and I should have put more washing in when we came back but didnt..... Hey ho, it sure as hell won't be going any where, it'll be peering at me from the basket.
Yes, it is grim up north Nels, there'll be more restrictions for us here in the north east next week it's rumoured. How can it all end I wonder.
Glad to hear everyone's news anyway, take care folks11 -
Monna, your dad's story brings back a childhood memory. Our house stood on a big plot and had a very large industrial greenhouse on it. We kept hens and bantams but to be honest the land and greenhouse were just left to themselves. One day my older brother and me (aged about 5 and 7) found the china eggs that mum used to put under broody hens, they made very good missiles to aim at the window panes in the greenhouse. A smashing time was had, followed by a squalling time when mum found us and smacked our bottoms well and truly.9

Evening all,
Nice day here today, DD4's OH took me for physio this morning, in the car they have only got for a few days, and for which haven't yet got the insurance certificate and of course we were stopped at a Garda checkpoint......luckily they realised that we were telling the truth and let us go. Checkpoints are to enforce travel restrictions to try to limit the spread of Covid 19. We are really at high numbers here with the virus so every effort is being made to keep us apart.
The physio was pleased with my progress since the operation and gave me the option of just going back in two weeks for a review and put me on one crutch in the meantime......back to the surgeon next week so we will see what he has to say......I feel quite well, bit shaky some mornings but fine once I have been up and about for a while.
Ruby.......take things easy pet, you need to build yourself up for next month,. an anaesthetic is hard on the system, so give yourself as good a chance as possible.
Hester.......men never cease to amaze me, sorry that the only romance on your holiday will be knitting and crochet!
Feeling tired tonight, hugs to all.......we will survive this menace.
Stay safe
