The Post Office are not obliged to accept it, but a bank is likely to (especially if it's your "home" branch). If your bank won't, the Bank of England will definitely accept it.

stick the two pieces together with celotape and stick it into your bank account. it will be fine at the bank. i have put torn notes stuck back with celotape before several times.1

I don't live close to my bank unfortunately they closed the only local one we had and the nearest one now is 2 buses away0

then stick it back carefully with clear celotape and hope that the post office will take it. they may not change it for you but you may be able to spend it there.tania12 said:I don't live close to my bank unfortunately they closed the only local one we had and the nearest one now is 2 buses away
i tend to put notes that are questionable into my bank account as banks are less fussy about notes because a lot of them get burnt anyway as part of the normal process as far as i understand.
otherwise ask a relation or friend to put it into their bank for you.0 -
Hi,just stick it neatly together with clear sellotape and spend as normal, as long as numbers match on both havles, no problem.Your son must've been really bored, try to get him a hobby.1

Stick it carefully together and spend it on a self serve tillLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

have you tried this before? the machines weigh the notes as one way to check if they are fakes, so sticking tape over it may stop the machine accepting the note. the OP is better off giving the note to a cashier at the till.suejb2 said:Stick it carefully together and spend it on a self serve till0 -
....or if that fails, just send it here and i'll take it off your hands 😋😉0

if you put a lot of notes into your bank account at the cashier counter, the cashier often weigh them after she has counted them to check that she has counted them correctly but also to check if any notes are fakes. yes, each note weighs an exact weight so the machines can tell how many notes are on the scale. just my experiencesuejb2 said:
