Changing banks and ID

I was hoping to change banks shortly as the fees are going up but when I look into what other accounts are available they all seem to want photo ID.Is this now the norm ?
Is there a way around it for those of us who don't have any ?........that's right I don't have a current passport and have a paper driving licence.
And another thing,I was looking at Starling and they want you to open a personal account first.I don't need a personal account, would I have to use it ?

I don't know what else you have, but one of my siblings, in a similar position, was able to use his OAP bus pass and NHS staff ID badge, both of which had photos. I would imagine banks would have a list of acceptable forms of ID, but counter staff may not be aware of such a list because passport / photocard driving licence is the quick and easy 'ask'.Daz2009 said:I was hoping to change banks shortly as the fees are going up but when I look into what other accounts are available they all seem to want photo ID.Is this now the norm ?

The easiest solution I've discovered is to get a photo driving licence.....when I've saved up enough coins for the photo booth machine lolSavvy_Sue said:
