NZ ELECTION BALLOT PAPERS WON'T SCAN FOR UPLOAD

As above.
I'm newly with John Lewis Broadband after shabby BT nonsense, long-running. This area is a connectivity blackspot.
I was so pleased I could print and use my Ballot papers this morning, ready for Upload back, after scanning.
Problem - Canon MG4150 printer/scanner won't scan.
The little blue light 'scan in progress' bar runs across and back, but there is no sound and no msg of any kind.
What is wrong, please?
Help needed, thankyou - from someone who does NOT live online:-)

Are you trying to scan via the button or via your PC with canon utility?

Can you scan to a USB pendrive plugged in to the printer/scanner? If yes then you could then move the pendrive to your PC and copy the file across that way. (Not the ultimate solution, but should get you around your immediate issue).1

You need to scan back to your pc. Do you have a photo programme? There are free ones.On your photo programme, use import. WIA import. If this is not available, you will need to download drivers for your printer. I am at the Docks tomorrow. So pm me if not working. I’ll sort on SatDay!1

Thankyou all who posted suggestions.
Eventually uploaded via a print centre in another rural village.
Thankyou too, bop.
As we All Do Knowe, Jacinda had a glorious landslide victory and earlier today, named her Cabinet. All well-qualified, very fit and able in post and tasks:-)
