Help to buy ISA - Outside of London

We're in the process of purchasing a property which is 800 metres outside the catchment area for London, and will have a London Borough postcode, BR8, but fall under Sevenoaks council, which is Kent and not classed as a borough of London. The village, Crockenhill, we're moving into is surrounded on three sides by London boroughs, The purchase price is more than the £250,000. But less than £450,000.
We understand its in black and white on the Gov website, but seems quite harsh to miss out on quite a bit of money for such a short distance and wondering if anyone has ever had a positive experience for being able to use a help to buy a cash ISA with such unusual circumstances.

The Help to Buy site provides a definition of what they consider London, doubt there will be any wriggle room if you don't fall into one of the listed areas.1

I grew up in Biggin Hill which is just within the Bromley border, but has a TN (Tunbridge Wells) postcode. The postcodes, boundaries and addresses around there make absolutely no sense, so I really sympathise with you! I'm actually surprised to hear Crockenhill isn't in Bromley, I always just assume everything inside the M25 counts...
The HTB ISA limit doesn't seem particularly helpful for a lot of the south to be honest. We are FTBs in Bristol and my partner has a HTB ISA that he won't be able to use the bonus on because £250k for a house in Bristol is a struggle these days. Thankfully we can at least use the bonus on my Lifetime ISA.0
