Back in Feb, I had storm damage to my house and the fascia blew off. I began an insurance claim, but when I got quotes, the first one I got was suprisingly small and not worth making a claim, so I went with them and allowed the claim to naturally close. Then lockdown came and they cancelled the job, so my house has been without fascia since. After lockdown,I have contacted them several times, but they have been flaky, so I've got a couple of other companies in to give me a quote. This time it is significantly higher as they have said they will need scaffolding (which I thought they would as my drive is on a slope) and they have identfied further storm damage to the chimney stack which will also need doing.
I have emailed the insurance company asking them to reopen the claim. Do you think this is something they will do?

Don't you have home insurance now? Or does it still work? I would like to know in more detail and understand exactly how things are. If the insurance is relevant, then, in theory, after quarantine, they should have resumed a dialogue with you. But again, if you have applied to other construction companies, there may be problems, because they may not cooperate with your insurance company.

We had a burst pipe under our house in 2016, water came up into our lounge, it was discovered that the main water pipe under the house had burst. Our house is Victorian and the pipe was built into the concrete. The insurance came out and we had a new mains pipe redirected at the side of the house. However the water still remains under the house. We have now found that our kitchen cupboard is coming away from the wall in our extension , and is starting rot the inside of the cupboard doors. We only had the kitchen done in 2018. Just need some advice please . Thank you0
