Fireworks

I have just seen on the LIDL website that fireworks will be in store to buy from next week, Yippee said no dog owner ever!
My dog is petrified of them, tried a DAP plug in, a thunder coat, made her a den in a corner so she can hide and tried playing firework noises quietly in the background and all have failed.
the next port of call is the vet unless anyone can suggest trying something else?

I'm also dreading it as my cat is petrified when they go off, each year they seem to be louder.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Classical music or reggae is apparently helpful. My friend has had a bit of success with this. She has had times where her big dog has been out and someone lets them off an she has become incapacitated. So sad0

There used to be a CD of loud noises that you played to desensitise the animal- fireworks, gunshots etc- it was called 'Crash, Bang wallop'- now vintage! but if you google desenitising CDs a whole load come up- called something like Clix noises and sounds. May not be too late for this year? PDSA has one under £10
sedative from vet? except it's not just one night
My dog club always advocates taking dog for a long walk that afternoon (or every afternoon! whilst the problem lasts) to tire him/her out. Carbohydrate heavy meal such as pasta to induce heavy sleep. Play loud music
One shop in our town has BOGOF fireworks! Hate the things- except a proper display
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
