School has lost exam certificates

Hi, please would anyone be able to advise me as to whether I have to take responsibility and pay for replacement school exam certificates? When I rang my daughter's University Technical College they were totally disinterested that she hadn't received her certificates. I was informed that they had been sent by recorded delivery but they didn't arrive. The school haven't apologised and just emailed links to the three exam boards where I understand the cost will be approximately £200. Am I entitled to ask for proof of posting and a confirmation that my daughter received them. It's so expensive, I think the College should pay for them. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

The point of recorded delivery is the cover if things go wrong - the college should claim against the post and that should go towards paying for new ones. Assuming they sent them to the right address!
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

There's limited cover on recorded delivery and won't cover £200. I would be asking to see the college's paperwork that they posted it and then ask for the tracking information.0
