Will Autoaid collect from a garage they have recently dropped off to? Car is a right off??

Options
I have to have my car towed to a garage on Sunday. I have been advised the car is a right off, will Autoaid go back and collect the car for me?

Doubt it. They've done what they were contracted to - take your car to a garage if they couldn't fix it at the roadside

Edmond, isn't this one for your motor insurer?

No they have fulfilled the contract, perhaps telling them to take recover to home if possible? would have been better.

When you say the car is a "right off"? then assume since you have had it taken to a garage, then it is not a write off? but basically uneconomical to repair because of the breakdown and faults found?

Not an accident damaged write off that would now be in your insurance companies hands?

If its a right off, can't you just get a local scrappers to collect it?

Depends why it is a write off ? accident  = insurance.
Mechanical repair v car value?  Op decides.

Local scrap merchants cost of car delivered to them here: £150 to £200 to OP cost of them picking up free £0 to OP depend on area.

If mechanical damage and car is sellable then Gumtree spares or repair?

    "When is a car a write-off

An insurance write-off is industry jargon for a car that's either: sustained so much damage it's unsafe to go back on the road, or it is still safe to drive but is beyond economical repair. If your car has been deemed unsafe, then instead of being repaired the owner will receive a cash payout for the loss."
