Can my mother pay off my mortgage

My mother is selling her property and will have a substantial amount of cash available. She is offering to pay off my mortgage amounting to £350,000.
Is it possible and is there any tax implications. It maybe important to know that I am her only son and that she is divorced.
Thanks for the tips.

No particular tax implications, other than if she dies within seven years it will be taken into account in assessing her estate for Inheritance Tax purposes (though if she keeps the money, obviously it would anyway).1

She can do whatever she likes with her money, not sure I would like to accept it as she may need it.
No tax implications for you but she should seek some paid legal advice if she wants to give away over a third of a million pounds to clear your mortgage and have no financial interest in your property at the same time.1 -
Where is she going to live?1

Could also count as deprivation of assets for purposes of social care etc.1
