New drive laid

Hi
I recently had a new drive laid... Tegula block. I've no issues with the price I paid or the standard of work but I have a question regarding the ongoing maintenance of the drive.
The kiln dried sand that was brushed in gradually works its way out in certain areas where there are drips onto it. Eg under the car or certain points under the gutter.
I know that replacing the sand is part of the maintenance but am I paranoid to be trying to brush it in everytime I'm out? The slightest gap and I'm brushing more in.
Builder left me 2 bags so I have plenty of sand and can easily but more but how often should I be brushing the sand in?
For info... The drive is almost dead level.. Just a small grade for drainage.
Thanks.
