Morning all
Bright and sunny here for now but its very chilly, im sure the fire will be lit later.
Thank you all for the good wishesit was good news yesterday I am going in on the 20th Nov (my mums birthday) to have the big op, double mastectomy and reconstruction its the best news and not too long to wait, I have to sheild for two weeks before and once I have the covid test we all have to isolate for a few days and I cant go near DD or OH and use my own towels etc, I will have to stay in hospital for up to four nights but will hopefully be out before then. I have to shield for two weeks after as well but this wont be a problem as im sure I wont feel up to much galavanting anyway !! The surgeon is going to put me much smaller boobs in at my request, it will be a relief to be not so well endowed
There will be a mad rush now to finish things off for xmas as I wont feel like doing it after the op im sure, I have a meeting today with the lady from work so hopefully we can somehow get that sorted and I can then relax. Thank you again for all the support xxx
Dinner tonight will be something with mince maybe a chilli, and the kitchen needs a quicj clean this morning and a sweep through anything else can wait till tomorrow.
Hope your mouth is ok Gers xx
Bella I hope your dd is ok and that sunday goes well xx
Have good days all xx12 -
Morning all.
I'm wondering if this post will actually make it on to the forum. I am very apt to finish typing (poking at the tablet with one finger) and with a sigh of relief clicking on Old Style MoneySaving and losing the lot. Several times I have called back later in the day to see how everyone is doing and found that I don't seem to have posted at all.
TA, I am very proud of you cleaning the insides of your windows. It has been on my To Do list for weeks. One day.
If it's any comfort the only colour in my garden is an old compost sack that blew in a couple of days ago. I did see a yellowy gleam once and rushed over to see what was growing. It was a plastic clothes peg. Alan Tichmarsh would cross me off his Christmas Card list.
bella, your poor dd. I hope they find out what is wrong quickly. What a worry for you.
Gers, glad the stitches were removed painlessly. Enjoy breakfast.
AOD I also have pigeons that think they can rule the roost. I have an old roller paint tray that I keep filled with water for the birds. The love it because they have both a deep and a shallow end. One pigeon thinks it is his own private bath. He settles in for the duration. I almost expect him to arrive with a glass of something and a newspaper. All the other birds line the fences chirping indignantly, but to no avail. He will leave when it suits him and not a moment before.
snoozer. The thing to do with ToDo (see what I did there,) lists,is to make one out on Monday. The next day you cross Monday out and write Tuesday. The next day you cross Tuesday out and write Wednesday. And so ad infinitum. If you are very clever you may never have to make another To-do list for months. One day I am going to write my best seller - How To Avoid Housework Atogether.
Having encouraged a life of of complete sluggishness, I will leave you with....
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If ever I am on life-support, unplug me........Then plug me in again. See if that works.
ETA. Crossed posts RR. So glad that things are settled for you. Not something to look forward to, but what a relief when it's all over and done with. We will all be rooting for you. xI believe that friends are quiet angels

Hello all, had a better sleep last night but I feel sluggish today, could be something to do with eating all the wrong things yesterday too.... bread, chips, biscuits and chocolate, so today I must improve on my eating habits. We have taken the car for a run, not much of one as 15mins in any direction and we're over the border but the roads are pretty quiet again and the car had a "blow out the cobwebs moment ", I also posted a letter. I'm sure there were more post boxes around here, but they seem to be disappearing at a rate of knots.Anyway I have now put a load in the wm and hope I can put it on the line and get it dryish before the rain comes again later this afternoon. I shall fill the DW after lunch and get that going and we will have the LO gammon with a cheese and potato pie and extra veg for me for tea today, a chip butty was all I could face yesterday. I have no other plans, well I do but they will have to wait until I'm more me.Sending healing vibes to all the poorly ones, their children, family and friends. BTW our 'vanning friend with covid is finally on the mend after 5 weeks, fingers crossed there is no relapse.Special hugs to Gers, RedRuby and Bella.TA the only thing in my garden with colour is a shrub which looks like it's covered in white snowballs and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it.dp1 glad your DD made it home and you all had a lovely visit.Snoozer I go shopping in several different shops, or I used to, now it's only online from a choice of 3.Take care all, sorry if I've missed someone but out my brain is not firing on all cylinders...... againTake care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

Good afternoon all,RRuby - happy to see you can soon move on once you've had your op & yes crack on with Xmas, you'll be glad you did I'm sure.I'm finding the thought of buying pressies a bit overwhelming atm, the sight of some of the queues at the retail park at the weekend is offputting to say the least!DS1 has just told me his debit card has been cloned or hacked , there have been several payments taken out. Luckily the bank spotted it and rang him, so he'll get refunded and a new card.Bella, hope DD is ok, DS2 had meningitis (viral)when he was 19. We got the doctor out & he thought it was linked to him having chickenpox a few weeks prior. He started having double vision, went to A&E etc & was eventually transferred to another hospital with a neuro ward and was in for about 10 days with a couple of lumbar punctures. Scary at the time so I feel for you- hugs!Off to pick up DGS from school in a bit, they come out earlier now to avoid congestion. Need to post a card for my cousin en route too, luckily I was on the phone to another cuz and she reminded me yesterday, so bye for now x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Thanks Camelot but sadly no, I remember that it's a viburnum and looks from a distance like it's covered with snowballs, but on closer inspection they are balls made up of tiny white flowers. I am always picking up sick looking plants and nursing them back to health and unfortunately the exact name has been forgotten, much like the name tag.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently7
