Hello, I have lived in my flat for 5 years. Recently we have been told that we have unsafe cladding on parts of the building that need to be removed. Without having the cladding done it's highly unlikely you'd be able to sell anyway. Even if you can you would have a limited pool of buyers making lower offers.

When work costs that sort of money many HAs offer a monthly payment scheme scaled according to the cost. Have you checked your lease agreement to see if your HA offers this?

Unfortunately the short answer is that yes, you have to pay.
