Parking eye ‘final notice’ one year after the alledged incursion
Hello lovely people, I’m enquiring about this parking fine query on behalf of my mother.
Today she received a ‘final notice’ letter from parking eye in relation to a local also store. This is the first letter of its kind as she has not received an initial notice or fine letter. The letter claims that the incursion took place on 14th October 2019, nearly a year ago! It also claims to have sent her a copy of the original notice previously (she definitely hasn’t received one- this is all news to her), and that as the 28 day period since the alleged incursion has passed, she wouldn’t be able to appeal it. Even if they would allow an appeal, how on earth could she be expected to find receipts for this a year later? It seems unlikely that she would have parked there for more than 90 mins as it’s a fairly small store. She could have fallen foul of the double dip snot, but how would we be able to find that out a year later?
For context, she has been living with me for a little over a year and as far as we’re aware had changed her address with all relevant companies etc. This is definitely the first time she’s been contacted by them- can they really expect her to pay a fine that she hasn’t any chance to appeal, and for which they’re claiming was so long ago that she cannot find evidence to appeal in any case?
