Would changing a clutch on a Grand Picasso effect the oil?
Two weeks ago we had to replace the clutch on our C4 grand Picasso
At the weekend whilst driving the engine started to make a bad clicking sound.
We had to call out the recovery service and were advised there was no oil in the engine, this came as a big surprise as the engine oil light was not showing on the dash.
Not being a car person I’m unsure if when the clutch was replaced could this have effected the oil in someway or are the two not connected?

The "oil light" is oil pressure (or a total lack thereof), not level. When did you last check the oil level?
Does the oil pressure light come on with the ignition before you start the engine?
  • No, the clutch won't have had an effect.
Do you check the oil level regularly? By the time the oil light is on the dash, your engine is already toast as this is pressure, not level as mentioned above.

Some Picassos have oil level & pressure sensors.
However clutch is not going to affect oil level Im afraid

    Thank you for your responses.
Im unsure the last time the oil was checked, there was no waning light on the dash. I guess this will be an expensive lesson.
  • Most likely time for a new car.
