I’ve had a notification from eBay that my listings will need all the item specifics entered by February.    I have checked some of my listings with Optiseller and it says that some item specifics are missing, but all the specifics fields are entered.

It also says that my listings aren’t considered Top Rated even though I am a top rated seller.    Does anyone use Optiseller and can tell me where I’m going wrong ?

It's not you that's wrong it is Optiseller , returns nonsense results and doesn't appear to have bene updated yet for the new item specifics.

Thanks Soolin. It says new item specifics will be available from tomorrow, so will recheck then. This coupled with the new product codes we have to add to customs forms is going to be a lot of work.

I've got one at the moment that says it is not compliant due to 
'Department required soon'
- on investigation 'department' appears to be yet another box to try and add a gender to something that is stated clearly several times already  - for example 'socks' are they mens. womens, unisex, youth or teenage socks - absolute nonsense-when does a youth or teen become a 'man' or woman , is there a magic cut off age where suddenly socks don't fit?

It’s all nonsense.    I’ve found a competitor selling similar items to mine at similar prices and she is outselling me by 10 to 1.    Half her item specifics are missing.

I have several competitors who have very little information at all. I sell a widget, bit of a niche market But brand new (let’s say a 4 inch model of Orac from Blake’s 7) and have several Private sellers with quantities of new stock , no item specifics at all and also in their description one has just ‘model Orac’, no size , no description etc. Interestingly the one I’m looking at now has sold half a dozen and have no poor feedback comments. I have full item descriptions , sizes, functionality, a note to cover myself ‘this is a model, not a toy’, make, manufacturer etc - yet to sell mine I have to undercut their prices. 

This was also one of the items where I had a return request as the size was smaller than they expected (item was never returned though and there was no refund). That listing, and the reason I have it in front of me is because I cannot fill in the dozen or so missing item specifics. I have done department, answered no to vintage this is listed as brand new) filled out endless specifics about materials , colours  etc and I still have more to invent answers for. 

How many ways can they expect us to add materials , I have about 4 different boxes to complete and have taken to putting N/Awherever it is allowed.
