HSBC Duplicate International Transfer
THE FACTS:
I wanted to transfer some money from HSBC to a bank in Australia. Its a family thing.
It was about £100,000.
HSBC has a maximum daily allowannce limit of £50,000
THE PROCESS:
Because of the daily allowance I split the transfer in two
The first transfer was as youd expect - normal
The next day - the transfer was as you'd expect - normal - and I thought job complete
Until - I checked my bank account and it seems that HSBC had transferred 2 x £50,000 on the second day to the account in Australia (Now that is a transfer of £100,000 despite HSBC macimum daily allowance of £50,000)
I was told I had no other option than pay £25 recall fee and to suck up any FX difference that may incur
However, HSBC actually then requested the recall of both of the second day fees and not one as you would expect which is another problem to unravel.
It is one mistake after another and I'm still in this battle that HSBC blames me for something tht simply did not happen.
They are uninterested that their system/software etc is capable of doing this.Any Advice? They are wiping their hands and told me to go to the Ombusdmen
Thanks in advance
