That probably would've been more sensible! I'm working nights fri/sat/sun so wouldn't be able to do Friday or monday, and I'm just fed up of it dragging on now and just want to be moved! I was all packed last Wednesday ready to go on the Friday, and fed up of tripping over boxes now.FinallyStoppedLurking said:Would it not be sensible to set a different completion date eg. this Friday? At least everyone can be more sure.
I hope I don't end up kicking myself about my impatience!0 -
I know it's a disaster! I really didn't want exchange and completion on the same day, but I was so ready to go last Friday, and now just want to move asap. Hoping my impatience doesn't come and bite me on the bum!Comms69 said:Basically ONLY your solicitor can advise.
Which is why i always say that you shouldn't exchange and complete on the same day.0 -
I would never exchange and complete on the same day either.. I'd want exchange tomorrow and maybe complete a week later .
I ideally like 2-3 weeks after exchange as we have animals to move and usually need access to the onward purchase exterior area to make sure secure fences are in place and animal housing in situ. So far we have been very lucky as mostly have been empty or plenty of makeshift outbuildings to cope
Hope it works out for you Tomorrow, at least you aren't doing it all on a Friday0 -
It's probably worth speaking to you buyer and seller - if you have their contact details - or maybe asking your EA to contact them.
They might both something like "As far as we know, everything is on target for exchange/completion tomorrow"...
... or one might say something like "Our solicitor has said it's very unlikely that we'll be ready to exchange/complete tomorrow"
... or maybe something like "There's no way we can exchange/completion tomorrow, because I've just started self isolating"0 -
