Error TransUnion / Credit Karma - won’t remove

Hello, I’m new here. I’m looking for any kind of advice or support.
Basically there is an incorrect alias on my credit report on my Credit Karma account. It says the alias was reported by O2 in 2010. Say my name is Jill Smith, it says I’m also known as Jill Brown. I’m not, and never have been!
I clicked the little raise dispute button. Quite a while later I got an email from TransUnion saying O2 maintain the info is correct and so they won’t remove it.
I’ve called, online live-chatted, emailed, and written to O2 with no response at all. It started to drive me mad, so I contacted the CAB who advised me to complain to the ICO. I have complained about O2, but the ICO say it’s a 3 month wait for a caseworker to be assigned, and I’m not really hopeful I’ll get any resolution.
While I was on the ICO website, however, I read this: “we … expect the CRAs to take reasonable measures to ensure the information that is reported by lenders via their credit files is accurate. The information that is generated by the CRAs and for which they are responsible, includes financial links, linked addresses and alias information.”
So, I emailed TransUnion asking them to look into my complaint again and justify why Transunion’s stance is that this error on my credit report cannot be corrected.
I have received a reply from Credit Karma saying basically it’s nothing to do with them as they just re-use TransUnion‘s data. To date, I haven’t had a reply from TransUnion. I find it very weird that the reply came from Credit Karma saying ‘it’s nowt to do with us’ - but they were replying to an email I’d sent directly to TransUnion.

So I guess my question is, what else on earth can I do about it? And do companies that simply re-use another’s data not have any responsibility under GDPR to ensure that information is accurate? Could I request Credit Karma to erase all data they hold on me all together, to get them out of the picture and then I’d just have to deal with O2 and TransUnion?
That was long, I’m sorry. If you made it to the end, thank you. And if you have any advice, thank you!

Credit Karma only report the data that TransUnion hold on you. TransUnion on report the data they get sent by credit companies.
You need O2 to fix their systems.0 -
You need to write to O2. Write, not call. If you get no joy, the ombudsman is the next step after having exhausted all avenues with O2.There is incorrect info on my credit report with Experian; apparently I opened a joint current account with my husband when I was six years old. Experian challenged the info and the bank replied that said info is correct and, therefore, they won't amend the report.I've complained to the bank in writing and am told it's a systems error that can't be changed. In the scheme of things, it doesn't have any effect on my credit rating whatsoever ( I am assured). But still...My next step is the ombudsman, but I really don't care that much.0
