Help to buy - Authority to proceed delay

Hi
Me and my partner reserved a new build towards the end of July and have had mortgage offer from the bank approved and authority to proceed from Help to buy but we have been waiting ages for the authority to proceed, our solicitor said she uploaded the relevant docs on 04/09 and we are still waiting to hear back... I also feel that the house builders are dragging their heels with the completion of the inside of our house until exchange has gone through, is that normal?
Has anyone else experienced a wait this long? I can fully imagine they are overloaded with work but our solicitor said it would originally take around 7 working days?!
I believe we are Agent 3 if that helps.
Many thanks
Becca

Hiya, the delays with HTB are due to Covid and the high volumes of cases they have received. I waited 16 working days for my ATE (authority to Exchange) only for it to not be approved because it was completed incorrectly, so I've had to resubmit it. Their current service level is 22 working days for agent 3. It is a little unusual for the developers to purposefully delay progress of your build due to you not exchanging, as regardless if you buy it or not, it will need to be sold. Probably due to low level of tradesmen or materials perhaps?0

We are in exactly the same boat. We submitted our application with H2B on the 2nd Sept and are still waiting for our Authority to Proceed. There are such long delays with them at the moment. Every time I go on to there website, the timescales have changed and they are now between 28-30 days!

Having the exact same problem but with ATP, my partner and I have been waiting for 3-4 weeks but when I go onto the HTB website it says the wait times are currently 4 working days. When I ask my mortgage broker he just says there is a backlog and they have a couple of cases they are waiting on and that we are in a queue. Starting to wonder if we should be worried.0
