Hi all, we are currently going through the RTB process which was delayed initially due to Covid. I understand that councils have different time scales however I am just after the average timescale as it says that from this point it can take 4-6 months but I really cannot imagine that is the case. We have accepted the price of the house completed the form and sent back to the council. We have also completed the necessary solicitor forms and sent proof of funds and ID etc. The council have just had the EPC done. We arent having surveys so I am just wondering how long it will be from this stage?

Your landlord usually has up to 4 weeks to reply confirming whether or not you have the Right to Buy your home – up to 8 weeks if you have been with your current landlord for less than 3 years.Your landlord will then send you an offer notice (S125) within 8 weeks for a house and 12 weeks for a leasehold property.

just wondering how long this will now take!0 -
Since no mortgage is needed it will depend on how quickly the conveyancing process takes which is usually 4-6 weeks. We are in the 'Right to Acquire' process and instructed solicitors nearly 8 weeks ago, our ID checks were done but have not had much progress. Our housing association is yet to get the contract pack together, they needed to get conveyancing plans drawn up for the land registry as it's a relatively new property and they are in the process of putting together a new lease so that's causing the delay.1
