Hi
I have put some saved  e mails and other files on a memory stick so I can access them on my phone.
Yet when I try to access them from the memory stick via my phone.
I get an error unable to access.
The some emails have BIN file next to them yet all are readable on my pc.
I have now installed " file reader" app and everything works fine.
But why have I had to install an app to read saved emails that are on the memory stick.

I don't understand as there is nothing special about them as they are all bog standard e mails
Thanks

A bin file is a binary file.

Binary Files cannot be sent through any E-mail system since all E-mail systems only send ASCII text. As a result, Encoding needs to be performed to translate a Binary File to text before the file is sent as E-mail. The attachment of an encoded binary file to an E-mail is known as Binary Attachment.  When a Binary Attachment is received, it needs to be Decoded so that it can be translated from text back to its original format.  If you're saving files as BIN files on your computer then this encoding has broken down, you shouldn't be getting BIN files, you should be getting PDF or DOCX or ZIP or whatever.  Not a .BIN file.

    Hi
My phone is a OnePlus 7 and the e mail app  is what came installed but my email is talktalk.net
the desktop email is Outlook 2010.
I have dragged and dropped everything on to my memory stick from the pc. Windows 10 .
I have even tried to save an e mail directly on to the stick from the pc without altering anything as you can see from the photo.
The file opener  app have install is file viewer for Android.
I have also tried to send as an attachment but that didn't open either unless I have file viewer.
I have enclosed screen shots of everything also.
    Thanks

Sorry about the size of the images.
I did it in a rush on my phone.
When I figure out how to get my Samsung S7 to read memory sticks with the Samsung  adaptor I will test that.
    Thanks again

Is that your email address at the bottom of the third image?

If so, you might want to obliterate it.
