    Thanks for all your comments. It’s my mums radiator so I’ll close off the valves before draining and then fit the new bleed nipple I’ve already bought. Won’t be going until the weekend so hopefully should all go to plan

    You will only need to drain a (large) cupful out at most - No need to drain the radiator completely.
