Kindle Paperwhite Wifi connection

Options
Hi, I recently had to upgrade my kindle keyboard for a paperwhite, and have had nothing but trouble with the wifi connection.  I usually keep the device in airplane mode to save battery, but then when I remove the restriction and try to connect to my home network I am unable to connect - the device seems to forget the wifi password and settings  I then select my network and re enter the password, but am still unable to connect.  Amazon help information suggests resetting the router etc and restarting the device - which would be find in exceptional circumstances - but is this really required EVERY time I turn on the device wifi ? I appreciate there are issues with dual band routers and have previously ensured settings are configured to the 2.4 setting.  Is anybody able to advise ? is there a way to resolve this without being forced to restart my router every time I want to download a book.... Thanks in advance...

  • Just go the simple route and leave the WiFi on, the extra battery drain is negligible in the bigger scheme of things.
