Google Play > YouTubeMusic

Google have closed Google Play, and advised us to upload our music to YouTubeMusic. I’ve done this, but I now can’t play my PURCHASED MUSIC without advertisements, and can no longer cast my music to my Google Nest or Alexa. I’ve contacted Google, Google Nest & YouTubeMusic, and all three pass me around and now ignore me. What can I do, as I’ve got around 50/60 albums that I PAID for, and OWN?

I think you've got your wires crossed somewhere. Google Play is the app store, do you not mean Google Play Music? Which I've just looked at and seems to be available?

I think you've got your wires crossed somewhere. Google Play is the app store, do you not mean Google Play Music? Which I've just looked at and seems to be available?

Yes, sorry, Google Play Music. I’m in the UK, and followed the instructions in their email. Definitely closed as I only get a blank page now when I click on the app. I feel like my music’s been stolen. It was albums I purchased in the Google Play Music app.

You should have had an email months ago telling you Music was closing with an option to transfer between it and YouTube Music, or failing that you may be able to still do it manually - see above link.

Hi Neil. I got the email, and I’ve transferred my music to YouTubeMusic, but I can’t cast it to my google nest, or listen without ads. YouTubeMusic informed me I need a PREMIUM subscription to do this. It’s my music though.

Its been the case for a while that you can't send music to Nest without a premium account and you're not the only one who's just found this out:

So what do we do? I paid for this music.

Google are allegedly "working" on this at present. Google play music is supposed to be around in the UK until December. I can still use it but like others You tube music suggests I pay if I want to listen to my own music in the car!
