Usb memory stick drive C adapter.

Hi i have just bought a Usb memory stick drive C adapter and after plugging the drive into my phone everything of the drive is now on my phone,
Thanks and after plugging the drive into my phone everything of the drive is now on my phone,
Is this Normal as i was hoping i could just select the files i needed at any given time of the drive like you can do on a PC?

Are you sure everything's been actually copied over to your phone's internal storage because I'd doubt that would happen. If you remove the drive can you still see the files on your phone?2 -

Sorry did a check later and nothing had been transferred (phew)
It is a type c adapter with a female usb connector that I can connect a USB stick.
