Put some into a pension would be the obvious one, give you a nice retirement pot.

Be indulgent with food, treats, toiletries.

    Replace furniture, clothing, soft furnishings.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

You don’t have to do anything. It’s not obligatory to spend it. if you don’t need the money, or want anything at the moment, then let your benefits be reduced until your savings drop below the limit again.

The fact that you received the severe disability premium indicates that your ESA claim is either wholly or partly income-related.
This is affected by savings in excess of £6,000 so either you or your appointee need to contact the DWP and update them on the amount of money you have saved
  • If it was me, I'd be using the extra money to pay for things like cinema and restaurant trips with my friends.

They may have spent it all now because you've commented on the thread that's 14 months old.

Yes a very old thread...I trust they are well and they sound fine from recent posting. But ironically you may not have been far from the role of prophet as aside from entertainment subscription,
quoting Op from a very recent post on budgeting:

I've been wasting so much money on unnecessary [expletive]. I've been drinking a lot and wouldn't think anything off it to blow £150 out drinking and a meal with my housemate who's never got any money.
But it appears they do indeed continue to save significantly including for to treat staff to holiday.

Must admit with Covid times I imagine many have struggled to spend income... struggled to get carers etc.. even I find myself shopping at Sainsburys *laugh*
