Payment holiday, interest only (?) and future mortgage application

I'm in the last month of a 3 month payment holiday of my Coventry mortgage. With the letter they sent confirming the payment holiday there was a flyer giving other options to a payment holiday, one of which was 'We may be able to temporarily switch you to interest only'.
If I just ASK them about this option, will that be reflected anywhere in my credit file? If it is an option and I take it, how will that be viewed credit-wise for a future application? (planned sometime next year). I'm unemployed at the moment, living off savings while I apply for jobs, so any reduction in outgoings is helpful.
My house is in the process of being sold, Coventry are aware of this because last week they issued a redemption statement to my solicitor. If all goes to plan, the sale should complete by the end of the year. The mortgage is 35% of the value of the house. My husband has a house and we will both live there until I have enough employment history for us to apply for a joint mortgage to get a new place together.
Thank you in advance for any insight you can offer
