Noticed last month that my passport had run out, not that it mattered, but thought I would renew anyway. Set aside a whole day to deal with this. Went to a local Photo Booth and got a set of pics, that I am sure are not of me, but which have a reference number to use on the web. Logged onto the site and read the warnings of how long it was going to take due to Covid and started my application. It was soooo easy. Put in my reference number when prompted and the pic of this wizend old crone duly appeared. Paid my dues and that was it.
Received an email confirmation. Another when they receied my old passport, yet anothe when it was approved and a final one  when it was despatched with TNT. The whole process took eight days.
Well done Passport Office - 10 out of 10.

I have to say that my renewal was reasonably painless.  I did have problems with the photographs that kept getting rejected (usually with 'you must look directly at the camera') but the place that took them took another 2 sets before I attached a note saying I am not sure what the problem was and they accepted them.

The eyes look about right but rest of it is about 20 years too young and 70lbs too light
