Faulty shower - returning to B&Q

Hi guys,
Picked up a new Mira shower from B&Q in the week and today met up with my plumber for fitting in one of my properties. Long story short, it doesn't work. There's power/water but no action from the shower unit itself... I had a spark on site doing some other bits and he 'tested' it and concluded that it was "f^8k*d". An internal issue with the pump/circuit board is suspected. I ran out of time today to return the unit but my concern for when I do, is how am I going to get on with the fact that I only want to return/replaced the shower unit - everything else, the hose, shower head and furniture have already been fitted. Do you think they'll just allow me to have the shower unit replaced, without all the additional fixings? I don't want them to think I'm just trying to blag a shower head and a few screws out of them
What are my consumer rights etc. in this scenario?
Thanks.

Buy another one. Take out the bits you need. Put the faulty bits back in to make a complete kit. Then return it as faulty.0

I would ask them if you could open the box of the replacement and switch the main shower unit over as you've already fitted the other bits. I can't see that the overall outcome would be any different to them.0

Thanks both! I've considered all my options... @chrisw I think this is the approach I'm going to take first. Can't see that as being unreasonable? Like you say, the outcome is still the same, it's just will they see it that way

It will probably just depend on the person who serves you at the returns counter.slipd said:Can't see that as being unreasonable? Like you say, the outcome is still the same, it's just will they see it that way
Otherwise just do anselld's suggestion above - buy another one, swap the bits over in the car park and take the faulty one straight back in for a refund.1
