  • Well I am rubbish at keeping this updated  :#

Hmmmm looking at my last entry some positive and some negatives!

Finances - I am a bit behind my schedule of clearing my credit card, but my balance sits at £500 so have 10 weeks to go @ £50pw HUZZAH! After that all I have is an old debt of my ex that I am saddled with that I will be paying £13 a week on for the next 5 years and I am in no hurry.

I also opened a stocks & shares ISA 2 weeks ago, I have been itching to start investing and just decided to go for it. I will try to stick to £20pw, I have already made 9p profit lol. Once the card is paid off I do need to start saving into a EF; I have access to 9k on credit on cards if I had a true emergency and that's not ideal of course but it has made me lazy in getting it sorted. Of course, I will have access to my ISA so I guess that's an EF?

Other positives; the house is all decorated, aside from getting some blinds and a new sofa. Blind company coming next week, I reckon 600-800 ouch but once its done it will look amazing. I will of course haggle. The sofa we are gonna wait for the hopefully Christmas sales I think. We have the money set aside so we will wait till a deal comes up.

The wedding - was supposed to be in November but when the 10-week deadline came for the balance that emirates decided to levy the red/amber situation was undecided so we just pushed it back to May 2022. Fourth blinking times a charm eh?

The first negative is my weight - I went wayyyyyy off track, regained 30lb in 2 months (yes, really), and am now back to it. I have chipped off 7lb so heading in the right direction. Hopefully, I will need yet another wedding dress haha

The other negative is my OH has had a lump on his neck and has been referred to the hospital "C" department for a scan. Docs have said they do not believe that is what it is but want to rule it out so they can move on to the next steps. Trying to remain calm and not wig out every time I think about it.

And work is good, WFH is not permanent, might do one day a week in the new year but no one is in a rush, including the management. I am researching possibly doing something of my own too, but early days and I find it all confusing and terrifying! I am no rush though.

I think thats all for now - sorry for being dull and absent - hope you are well x

congratulations Juicyjackieb!  You’ve done brilliantly to achieve your dream of being debt free by chipping away at your debts every week, and now you are there.
I’ve read your diary this morning for the first time, and on the way you were saying “it’s only £40 (or whatever) a week” and in my head I was saying “but that’s £2000 a year” and now, by amalgamating all your weekly savings/bits of income etc here and there you have done it!  I was so chuffed for you when I saw your latest post and it was to say you were debt free, well done.

All the best for the future! X
