The local weather here last night said "Storm woman's name" will be moving off to the continent and it'll be an alright day tomorrow. I thought it was just a spell of bad weather. Shows what I know eh!Farway said:Cribbed from Dusty, added the name to picture, lettering colour matched to the tomato BTWPS, car passed MOT OK, it lives for another yearYears ago, I had to do pictures for our stall. Learned to do it then. Not learned much since!Mrs Dusty has just told me her car needs MoT in a week or two. I've walked all the walks around the usual garage, so I'll choose another this time, as used by our mechanics in the wee town. It's had a pre-MoT from them, so I'm hoping for nothing too major.Weather not great, but we'll be off to Rosemoor soon. Still bits to see.

Been for my garden walkarounds this morning, the wasps are out in force on the borage so I skipped away smartly from there. The bees seem especially agitated today, they're darting about more than they usually do, like the meters running on the taxi or something. Tok this but only with a phone hence the not sharp sharp quality but I did like she looked like she'd been rolling in pollen.ENjoy Rosemoor [again!] Dusty. You can never get enough of a good garden. And you can't p r ick out lettuce either...2p, I'm another who's put off by perfection. I think I strived for it a little bit in the distant past but then gve up when I realised I didn't have the particular nature for it. Haphazard is more my style. Nice flowers YBL, watch the neighbours don't think the same thing! Farway, I cheated and used an arch with added poles for mine although they aren't runners so probably won't put on the same growth. I've just read The Salt Path too, and there's a bit in there about salted blackberries, the perfect time when they're ripe and a mist has fallen near the sea so they become perfectly salted blackberries. Kind of like that with tomatoes isn't it. I buy tomatoes from the sm roughly three times a year and am always disappointed unless I buy the super expensive cherry plum types. Nothing beats a fresh, tasty, mouth smacking tomato.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi5

Gawd I think my mot is this month too 🧐 Never ends does it.Just to add to the loveliness, I’ve been weeding this morning and found this wee fellah tucked in behind the leavesAnd just to counter-balance that (and upcoming further Rosemoor pics) here’s the state of bug infested nettles we removed the other day. There were thousands of them!Look away now if you don’t like bugsDoes nothing eat them? There was enough there to keep all the birds going for a month 😣I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4

Are they Nettle Groundbug nymphs?
https://www.britishbugs.org.uk/heteroptera/Lygaeidae/heterogaster%20_urticae.html
If so, they tend to explode in population then disappear in a couple of days
I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4 -
Love those plants Bluey, never seen them before.
Well autum persists. My neighbours winter clematis is blooming
The raspberries look like raspberries but are still ripe in some bits, unripe or seeds on another. The leaves have gone yellow too. Think once it's dried out I'll cut them out and hope the new growth produces something.
Apples are ripening on my baby tree. Even got windfalls so just like a grown up tree
Just been down the town and nocticed evening primrose growing along the wall. Seed pods not quite ripe....
Mixed bag of weather here. Started wet, then some slight sun, now grey cloud come over looking suspicious.
Hot and steamy tho.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Yep I think that’s the result I got when I DDuck’d them Arb. I was only leaving the nettles til they flowered cos the bees love them and the colours are so pretty. The bugs were there long enough to be eaten but I had to draw the line.Yeah I like the plants too 2p. I only took 2 cos the fellah said they’d do rightly up my fence
I have no luck with erm sticky plants. I quite fancy some evening primroses but I don’t think there’s any round meI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
There used to be loads on the sand dunes when I walked the dog after work.
They smell gorgeous in the evening.
But they reconstructed the beach for the tourists and they vanished.
Not sure when or if I can collect seed but you're welcome to some. The more we spread the better it's chances. And the Hummingbird Moth uses them.
Just had to post again! I have a ripening tomato!!!!!
Watched all your wonderful trusses as I had none but now ........
Got given one of my deceased gardening neighbours pots today. Been sat there with a dead plant for ages. So I've sorted out the front bed and put the helebore that wasn't thriving there in the pot.
Holidaying neighbour who wants some of her stuff returned and I had to angle myself between her and it. I'm hoping she was so full of holiday she didn't notice but I saw her scanning my area as she was talking.
So it will have to go out the back.
Complicated this 'keep everyone happy' lark.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Back on aquilegias. No seed heads got sprinkled this year for various reasons but I am going to try to rescue this one growing out of the side of the dalek type compost bin6

Rosemoor's on the way to weekly shopping, so it makes sense to use the season ticket as much as possible. The weather was a gamble, but we didn't have rain. Going outside weekends and after lunch seems to be best for avoiding crowds. As you can see, it was hardly rammed; even the long main border looked like this by 4pm:ENjoy Rosemoor [again!] Dusty. You can never get enough of a good garden. And you can't p r ick out lettuce either...2p, I'm another who's put off by perfection. I think I strived for it a little bit in the distant past but then gve up when I realised I didn't have the particular nature for it. Haphazard is more my style. It's nice to view special gardens, but I agree, people shouldn't take the task of achieving perfection home if they have busy lives or are more into serendipity. Home gardens constantly evolve and are bound to reflect their owners' personalities.I'll be putting up some photos from yesterday in a day or two. Meanwhile, as I know Blue Eyes is into insects, here are a couple of big bugs we spotted. There's a bug hunt for kids this summer holiday linked to the Aardman Lloyd of the Flies films."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity7 -
I can't see anything on your first pic, YBE, even after zooming in (Mrs Magoo here
) what am I looking for?? Those nettle bugs are disgusting - unfortunately I can see those right enough haha. The pink plants are amazing
Yay to your tomato, twopenny, hopefully worth the wait. I've got three ready and waiting on my plant and will have them for lunch today. Shame about your yellow tom, YBE, will you leave them to ripen a bit more to see if they're better??
Love the 'bugs' photo, Dusty, they look like they're having a great time posingI wish we had some gardens close by to have a look at. I've seen one advertised but it's a bit of a trek to get there and my DH is not at all interested in going.
It's a beautiful sunny morning here - shame I'm going to work...'A watched potato will never chit'...3
