Wort, I read that as, "I got a whoopsie Peonies plant which I dug up before work yesterday" I thought you'd pinched it
My red and white currants are only just flowering, way behind. I cut the white currant back by 2/3rd this year as it's rampant and I hardly use them. Cost me 50p from the Co-op years ago. The red currant is behind a gate so regular bashing keeps it in trim, mainly food for the blackbirds
Google says it's 10 degrees here but with the wind it feels like 5! As the soil is too dry to dig, weed or plant I've had a day off and only tidied the hens and the tool rack.
Broccoli grown from a packet of seed which expired in 1983 and yes, it really is nearly as tall as the swing!Love living in a village in the country side6 -

Impressive plant.Yesterday was brass monkeys here too, but it didn't matter. Our guests felt better, suddenly packed and left by midday. We collapsed and slept the whole afternoon on the sofas!Better is promised for today wind-wise, but it still looks pretty grey out there. I think I'm vacuuming anyway. Place looks like a bomb hit it!Edited to add extra envy for the Judas Tree. I had one grown from seed too, but it didn't survive the first winter here

Like Woolsery, promised better & warmer weather today, must’ve been cold overnight because my heating clicked itself on this morning. Plants still bunged out to continue hardening off
Shame about your Judas tree Woolsery, maybe I was lucky, very much beginner’s luck I must add. I can recommend trying one for anyone with a bit of time & space, not hard to look after and keep tidy; mine doesn’t mind a good old hack about and the flowers sprout from the trunks
Good showing with the broccoli IMW, and such old seed. I used to grow it years ago, probably same time as packet of seeds you had and it was always a good reliable cropper when very little else was around, scorned at the time as old fashioned but now I see it’s all the rage, with greengrocers prices to reflect
Today’s picture is my dandelion version of primrose picture

Aren't dandelions beautiful! If they were a must have plant we'd love them.
I've found out why there's damage on my bird table. I opened the fat block caage so the small birds could get the last half and a seagull swooped down, scrabbled at the edag and flew off with the whole half! Right in front of my eyes.
The damage is possibily not repairable. And prices have gone up. I'm not happy.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Hi all, glad you're all well
Beautiful dandelions. I'll take a while catching up on the pics/posts.
Talking of seagulls 2p... caught a pair of them frantically pecking at my neighbours windscreen wipers yesterday. No idea what they wanted them for! Eventually gave up and sat on my roof 🐈Just my opinion, no offence 🐈3 -
Another cold night, seems for once I’ve been sensible by not putting my tender plants out just yet, still hardening off daily, no doubt tomato plants will fly off the shelves at garden centres this weekend, followed in a week or so by rinse & repeat buys as they die off
My Plan B sowing of Burpless cucs have germinated, I now have four potential plants which I hope will keep me in cucs for the summer, if so it’ll be my first lot of HM cucs in decades, I gave up growing them once I left my allotment
Bad luck on the bird table 2P but at least the culprits are now known. Would it be possible to re site the table, still in your view but more gull proof area? Just wondering because there are gulls here but AFAIK leave bird tables alone and I put this down to nearby shrubs preventing an easy swoop down & lack of glide path, plus maybe having to battle the squirrels & magpies for space as well
Today’s pic is of my plums, oooer missus

I don't think I have plums like that Farway, and maybe none at all, since anything that will pollinate the remaininng tree is far off. Lost two trees to silver leaf and general decay and a damson went sideways in Eunice.Working on guttering at present; another Eunice failure, though I read the stuff the evil conservatory company put up was from a company that's now gone bust, so I was lucky to find parts.I've just cut back the Verbena bonariensis which survived winter in the herb garden unscathed. Not sure if nodal cuttings will work with it, but I'll try as my seedlings are still very small. They're still trying to put up coat hooks down the road and it's getting serious. The kitchen is in the garden and there's an electrician there, so I guess they must've gone through a cable with those SDS drills.A favourite plant at this time of year below. So cheerful!5

Here's a great garden, wellies.
I've always admired it when passing by, even if it isn't really the River Taw at the bottom of it.
Pity about the bungalow itselfand although it's off the A377 its not very far off!
The other thing is that Lapford is probably the coldest place in this area, so a frost pocket is guaranteed.

An acre, a river, a well, small and cosy, a Rayburn. And a proper Devon cottage with the entrance round the back. With an EPC of 1 what's not to like?
DS2 has just about finished decorating his house - solar panels, heat pump, flooring, kitchen, bathrooms, etc and has been told today by email that his company are relocating 'up north'. I can't imagine how disappointed he must be feeling.
Light clouds and sunny here. This is my Bramley apple, never fails
