Meant to add, I haven't seen Poppy posting for a while - hope all is ok?Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Dull day, but up to the volunteer spot and watered all the large pots, which of course triggered some drizzleDead heading lilies time now, they don't last long but a pleasure while they last, what is doing well are some white cosmos, look nice & with dead heading are keeping on floweringFor some reason salvia Hot Lips has turned ghostly white, not a trace of lippy on it. Maybe it's reverted? Odd thing is a cutting taken last year has also gone white, very strangeI haven't yet picked the blackberries, bit too damp, no doubt soon be nice & mouldy :'(Here's one of my bean scoffers on a tea break

Paspatur, the Garrya is over 10 years now but is much bigger than it looks on the pic. I can’t recall how long it took to get going, it’s on a north facing side though all the top now gets sun from lunchtime.Nice plums Farway 😉
managed to fill green bin as was due today, edged the lawn, some scarifying done , though not by me! Followed by some grass seed . Some random weeding and chopping. Glad I did it when I did as weather a bit rubbish, doing the wet fine rain ☔️ thing.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5 -
Farway, I'd also noticed a number of Hotlips locally where some flowers have gone pure white, and another purple that shows the same bi-coloured trait but is now sporting white flowers as well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing2

Hotlips can be red, red and white or white all on the same plant, even at the same time. I believe the mauve and white one is called amethyst lips.2

At last I picked the blackberries yesterday, they are now inside a cobbler and some are in meWhile I was in the garden yesterday I had a burst of energy and got on with the final pruning of the Judas tree. It does look a lot better now the crown is higher, and more light to the garden as well, should make the dandelions in the grass shoot up I expectAnd the one remaining sunflower has yellow petals showing, if the snails leave it alone I may have a photo soon

Dull & rain due any minute, looking like another day indoors then but the only outstanding thing is remove seed pods from the lilies and that is not a big job.If it doesn't rain I may continue cutting up Judas tree branches into the green waste wheelie binMeanwhile here is a picture of the Peace rose at my volunteer place, taken while watering this weekThis rose was only planted this year so it's just a young one and still settling in. It was from J Parker

My Hotlips has not flowered at all this year.
Thinking it may be the -13 we had in February followed by late frosts in April and May?
Neither of my hydrangeas flowered
All plants look healthy
Will see what next year brings2 -
Envious. My garden looks terrible.Baked to within an inch of it's life and no rain at the end of the season and my border looks like a bed of weeds. No second flowering on the rosesCurrently a day of decent rain so we'll see what happens but it honestly looks like October here.I did buy some pinks and white chrysanths from Morrisons for £1 each and put them in pots so a bit of colour and cheer.Oh and some solar 'fairies' - I only meant to get a couple for a joke but they were doing 3 for 2 and reduced - now I have fairies at the bottom of my garden

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
