Travel Insurance not paying out

I'm really hoping for some advice! I bought travel insurance through AA/AXA pre-Covid restrictions and paid for my July 27th 2020 holiday to Portugal in October 2019.
AXA is refusing to pay out and have told me to claim from RyanAir (who have refused) and PayPal (the claim was made after the 180 day cut-off). All this information has been passed on to AXA.
What can I do now? I am so angry that I am going to lose £800+ after I have followed Gvmt and Insurance provider rules.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

What were the circumstances around you not going?0

If you booked the flight separate and Ryanair was flying it you will not get a refund from them. As asked why did you cancel?0

Did you arrange and book your own holiday components?0

Posting this in an appropriate forum, like the one dedicated to COVID-related travel issues that you skipped right by will get you the best help.
