We bought 6 tubs of a primer for a patio, as per manufacturer recommendations but have got 2 left over. They came from ebay and are unused, and were £40 each. Each weigh 15kg, what’s the cheapest way to send 2 of them back please? I think Hermes were about £10 per item, is there any way cheaper please?

Dpd door to door or shop to shop is much cheaper but you need the recipient to agree to collect from a shop. You also need to be able to print labels.1

Perhaps the seller can suggest some options for you as primer might be categorised as a hazardous liquid like paint and therefore be restricted by most couriers. I assume you are within the time frame for a return and have notified the seller?britishboy said:We bought 6 tubs of a primer for a patio, as per manufacturer recommendations but have got 2 left over. Thanks both of you, yes still within the return time frame, only arrived this Monday and got 30 days to return at my cost. It was delivered by our normal DPD driver, the primer in each tub is actually 3 x 5kg pouches of dry powder that you mix with water, hoping it can go back a standard way (crosses fingers)

I would have thought the 30 days would be for the order, not part order.
Normally cancellations by the buyer, which this is, apply to the complete order1 -
That's a point, the ebay system is set up for entire orders not part- so a return would automatically expect the full amount to be refunded as soon as the whole order was returned.unforeseen said:I would have thought the 30 days would be for the order, not part order.

OP, have you been very clear with seller that you are only returning a part order and have you agreed what percentage of the original payment you will get back?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Could you try to resell the unwanted tubs at a cheaper price rather than pay for a return?2

Yes, they are cool with me returning 3 of the 6 tubs, at my cost (obviously). Best I've found is DPD door to door, about £9.79 each tub (I cant ask them to collect the tubs from a local shop, too cheeky I think)soolin said:

P2G using INPOST is supposed to be £7.75-£7.87 with-without protection for 11-15kg0
