Don’t know whether anyone else has read the statement issued by Ofgem today that 7 energy companies have not paid the renewables obligations and feed in tariff levelisations they were due to make by 31 August. The total is a staggering £34M. The 7 companies are named and feature names which have come in for a lot of customer criticism on this website and other social media websites.
The biggest debt is Tonik Energy at just over £8M - no great surprise there.
Will Ofgem revoke their licenses, or is this statement just bluster ? Or maybe the companies will pay up.
We shall see.
Consumers looking to switch need to be aware of this, otherwise they could well end up being supplied by a successor company appointed by Ofgem!

The main debtor is RHE, who clearly aren't going to be paying any of the £12m they owed now, even if the liquidators can find any assets. No free lunch, and no free laptop
