New log book problem

Trying to get a new duplicate log book using the on line form V5C. Asked for postcode but I have since moved and have no contact with that address. Does this matter? Will they send new stuff to that address or will they ask that question on the form? I am up to the payment bit and do not want to enter details if they are using my old address. Help please.

    Hi
As by law you have to notify change of address as per law and you must have done that, no probs should arise.
It is an offence not to update your details. I think its a 1k fine if you don't tell them ASAP.

As you have forgotten and it happens, when did you move and your coucil tax, works, bank details will confirm that. So tell them what happend that you for and moved a few weeks ago and they will ask for evidence of your new address, EG coucil tax, utilities, bank statemsnts, pay/works, so you should be ok

Put the correct address in section 2 of the V62, and tick the "Yes" box for "Have you had a V5C in your name before".

Tick the "Lost" box in section 3.

At the bottom of section 5, put the old postcode.

You should (eventually...) get a replacement V5C through to your current address. Now file it properly, and - if you move again - change the address on your V5C promptly, while your post forwarding is still in place...
