Best postal service for 1 meter pampas grass stems

Options
Hi
is anyone able to help me please. Been using Hermes and to be honest I’m at my wits end with all the issues. The grass stems are long but very light. I currently pay Hermes 4.52 for pick up and a signed for on delivery. Or can drop off At parcel shop for 72p reduction. Anyone know of any services that would cater for the 1meter length. Obviously they weigh barely anything. Thanks in advance

Those prices seem very good.  Are Hermes raising prices or changing the maximum length they will take?  Many carriers are much more expensive for items that size or refuse to take them at all.

You're paying too much.  less than 1kg with Hermes up to 120cm in length is £2.90 drop off or £3.62 pick up.  Paying for signed for is pointless and is probably where the problems are coming from as its so much harder for courier driver to deliver the parcel if a signature is required. ( I'm not sure if Pampas is on the non compensation list, maybe that's why you're paying for a signature in case parcel is lost?)  Not really worth it though, online tracking on Hermes site is 100% better than Ebays and often shows as delivered whereas Ebay's will often still say 'dropped off'!!   They use GPS and photos now days too in case you have a 'difficult' buyer.

I've used ParcelForce recently to send a 1m long package. It was expensive, but at least they delivered it reliably.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
  • Thanks everyone. Most helpful I will rethink the signed for bit. It was only to stop buyers saying they had not received it as it’s not sold through eBay so not sure how we would stand should a buyer claim they had not received as I know Hermes dump my parcels anywhere hehe. Thanks again

If you buy just a normal parcel it should have tracking and delivery confirmation, it's the postables that don't (and no compensation if they go missing).
