Do any electric companies report your payment history to credit reference agencies?

I'm looking to build my positive credit history and about to switch to a new electric provider.  Was wondering if any of them report your monthly payments just like the mobile phone companies, banks etc do?

Yes. Not that mine counts as they are closing down so no help to you!

However I doubt it makes much of any impact anyway.

Your electric company is closing down?
As far as positive payment history, every bit counts.

If you are starting from a low point then yes I guess it all counts.

And yes, currently with npower (signed up though this site on some deal). And since eon bought out (just a side effect, they were after german industry) all customers are moving to eon uk (well domestic ones like me). Eon may well report but I will not know until the move occurs and a few extra months for things to update!

(I looked at my old report wehen I remortgage and I can say there is no eveidence that scottish power do (who I was with at the time), of course that may have changed since).

    EON definitely report to Equifax
  • E.ON Next however are a completely separate part of the business, so it doesn't necessarily mean they'll report to any credit reference agencies.
